Stuart’s art concentrates on contemporary graphic interpretations of the natural world. He was drawn to the unique style of Japanese woodblock prints that simplify natural form, which inspires his current work.
He has emulated this type of imagery using technology and illustrated a number of artworks now produced as art prints. After a career in graphic design and illustration projects for international clients, Stuart became a freelance graphic designer and also taught graphic design at Rochdale College of Art as well illustrating a number of children’s books.
He now devotes his time to digital art, which gave him the opportunity to combine his love for graphic design and the natural world. With a keen interest in nature from an early age his enthusiasm and understanding of nature is reflected within his art. He lives in north Manchester and is in close proximity to the wide-open spaces of the south Pennines, which he still has a close connection with.
